Field M&V

Measurement and Verification (M&V) is critical to documenting results and verifying performance for any energy efficiency or renewable energy program. kW Engineering provides complete measurement and verification services in support of performance contracts, retro-commissioning, or other projects requiring proven energy savings.

Our staff has extensive experience in designing M&V plans that are cost effective and compliant with regulatory requirements. We are well versed in the leading M&V protocols including the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) and the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) application of the protocol.

We perform short and long-term monitoring as well as setting trends using building automation systems. We have an extensive collection of in-house stand-alone monitoring tools and can monitor:

• Liquid and gas temperatures
• Liquid and gas pressures
• Power (kW) including power factor, amps, and voltage
• Liquid flow rate
• Light levels
• Air flow (spot measurement only)
